Five tasks:

1. A Comprehensive skills Audit
2. A completed SWOT analysis with a (minimum of three entries in each box)
3. Personal plan with clear goals for work experience and how these will be achieved

(Audit must be completed in full, minimum of three entries in each box for SWOT, Personal plan with a minimum of four goals and a contingency plan for achieving each goal)

1. Completed a Letter of Application/Cover Letter
2. A Curriculum Vitae (as if qualified with your Level 6 Early Childhood Care and Education).

The following advertisement is in your local newspaper. Apply for the position clearly following the criteria in the advert.

Section 2 – 500 words

Keeping confidentiality gives a brief outline of your work placement. Outline your understanding of the value of planning and preparation in order to maximize your learning opportunities and participate effectively during work experience.

Section 3 – 500 words

Outline how you used appropriate fundamental skills and competencies that are required to be an effective childcare worker such as communication and collaboration with staff, parents, and children in the professional ECCE setting.

Section 4 – 800 words

Explain how all staff at the ECCE setting; provide ongoing quality for children, with reference to Current Regulations, Aistear and Siolta, the settings policies and procedures, partnership with parents, and adequate training.

Section 5 – 1200 words

Outline a detailed and comprehensive account of activities and events during work experience. This should show critical reflection on the experience and challenges while working in an ECCE setting.
