Intent: The purpose of this assessment is for students to demonstrate their professional disposition towards nursing practice by acknowledging the importance of life-long learning. Students will begin the development of a professional e-portfolio that demonstrates their commitment to ongoing professional competence and which may be used as a reference throughout their nursing career.

Task: Students are to construct a professional portfolio that includes the following

1. Personal Nursing Philosophy – this should demonstrate application of two (2) of the UTS Bachelor of Nursing Graduate Attributes
2. Professional Nursing Standards – using the Registered Nurses Standards for Practice (2016),describe how you intend to demonstrate the development of ONE (1) of the following standards in preparation for or when on clinical placement

Standard 2: Engages in therapeutic and professional relationships OR

Standard 6: Provides safe, appropriate and responsive quality nursing practice
