Task Summary:
Preparation – please select an endorsed best practice guideline relevant to your area or practice OR interest. As a preparatory activity, undertake a review of the guideline using the AGREE II tool (provided in Canvas). A written summary of this review will form an appendix for the assignment.
Main assignment: the main purpose of the assignment is to critically review the implementation of the best practice guideline in relation to a specified consumer/patient group, relevant to your current or future practice. For example, but not limited to, adolescents with type 1 diabetes, middle aged men with type two diabetes, women with cardiovascular disease, asthma in the elderly, young people with chronic back pain.
Content will include: A description of the specified consumer/patient group, summary of the best practice guideline, discussion of the barriers and enablers at an individual, local, national and/or international levels including political and media aspects that impact the implementation and effectiveness of the best practice guideline, supported by relevant literature.
