A Project Manager has been appointed to manage the initial trial batch production of electric motors, which following development and successful testing will go into large scale production.

The initial trial batch is being treated as a stand-alone project, the culmination of which will be the issue of a project report detailing the design, purchasing, and manufacture and testing processes associated with the motor development. The report will provide guidance information for future production planning, costing and testing of the units.

In outline report format outline a Project Time management System that could be implemented on the project to ensure that the Scope of Works is correctly defined, that a project time, cost and quality schedule; is established and adhered to prior to rolling out the large scale production programme. The report should consider the following items;

• Project Definition Statement
• Project Stages/ life cycle
• Work Break Down structure
• Activity definition
• Activity sequences
• Activity linkages and constraints
• Activity resource estimating
• Activity duration estimation
• Prepare a Project Schedule/Programme showing all key milestones, activities and durations
• Outline a methodology under which the project schedule will be monitored.
