Analysing different aspects and dimensions linked to growth and sustainability will figure on how far a mining company can be sustainable while maintaining its competitiveness. One perspective to achieve growth and sustainability in mining industries is that the entire focus is placed on the execution and use, and the other is to lessen the impacts linked to the production process. Some approaches to sustainability in the mining industry have been based on the structure of the Five Capitals Model (FCM). The motive was to thoroughly and extensively move forward to the aspects of Sustainable Development (SD) in the selection of options for the management of projects related to mining, under the basis that the designing is where the opportunities to lessen the consequences and enhancement of sustainability exist, especially with advanced technologies.
