Assignment:

Develop an intervention for an older person that incorporates independence, self-determination and purposeful activity.

Criteria: 

• Identify the older person with specific care needs (e.g. older person with dementia, an older person with arthritis etc) in a particular setting (e.g. nursing home, living at home, day center)
• Design an intervention to meet their needs that incorporates independence, self-determination and purposeful activity.
• This intervention should come from the social model of care
• Evidenced by best practice principles.
• Consider what theories of aging would influence this intervention
