This course focuses on the complex subject area of contracts and laws relating to the construction industry. Students will gain an understanding of: 

• Basics of the Canadian legal system 
• Principles of contract, tort, labour and employment laws Federal, provincial and municipal legal, zoning and building requirements 
• Construction management related contractual relationships 
• Industry standard construction management contract forms 
• Industry standard trade contractor agreement forms 
• Impact of the authorities having jurisdiction over construction management 
• Legal risks associated with managing a construction projects 
• Dispute resolution methods 

The course is delivered using materials developed for the construction industry by the Canadian Construction Documents Committee (CCDC).
