The primary purpose of this dissertation is to develop, implement, and analyse the impact of implementing shop floor management will have on the overall strategy of a Collins Aerospace business unit. Shop floor management has been applied by different companies and organizations to improve their production and efficiency. First problem associated with the use of shop floor management is the Aerospace organization leadership contribution towards the effective shop floor management (Gohardani et al., 2016), According to Najmon and others (2019), use of shop floor require team player including the leadership of a company to achieve a desirable result. Some studies have identified the role leaders play in an organization, although less information exists on their role in ensuring effective shop floor management.
Another problem is that barriers exist when implementing the shop floor management strategy by Aerospace companies that affects the performance of employee and efficiency of the model. As explained by Najmon and others (2019), the barriers can be internal or external factors that slow the organization’s performance and growth. Some barriers can be handled internally within the organization while others require external collaboration and information sharing to tackle. According to Clausen and others (2018), shop floor management model should develop the right procedure and guidelines that minimize or controls the barriers that arise during implementation. The barriers associated with the shop floor management has not been established.
