Difference between Public and Private Policing in the Country
Public policing includes government service officers employed to protect the citizen; they follow strict requirement guidance from the government (Brewer et al., 2016). Their main concern is the safety of the public. At the same time, private policing officers’ main mandate is to provide private security to the individual or organisation in the country (Brewer et al., 2016). While public security officer is mandated to protect citizen life, private security officers are not mandated by the law to protect private business and property, their main function is to protect private properties and business in the countries (Brewer et al., 2016). Public security officers are accountable to the government, while private security is not accountable to the government; they are only accountable to whomever employee them.
