Description of Assignment:
For this essay, you will use your analytical skills and your understanding of the principles of rhetorical communication, to look carefully at specific experiences you have had and explore their expanded meaning. Specifically you will write about the way some form of “art” has deeply and meaningfully impacted your life. Alternatively, you may want to write about particular artists, photographers, painters, film directors, etc. who you believe do important work, but you need to explain how their work in some way connects with you. Whatever it is you choose, its important that you be able to justify your choice.
Broadly stated, the arts may be inclusive of theater, cinema, music, literature, painting, sculpture, television, photography, video games, graffiti, fashion design(er), fashion shows, photo collections (even those on social media so long as they constitute a photo archive), hair or make-up artistry, performance artistry, dance (groups or choreography), museums, videographers, tattoo art, body piercing/modification practices, vocalists, cartoonists/anime, etc.
