Later Adulthood: Ages 60-74 Integrity verses Despair- 250 words We now enter Erickson’s final stage of Integrity verses Despair. Later in life, we tend to look back over what we have accomplished and the choices we made. Did we spend as much time with our families as we wanted? Did we make a difference in someone’s life? Looking back and liking what you see will give you a sense of what Erickson called, Integrity. Although we all make mistakes and might not have succeeded in all we wanted, if you feel like you did the best you could with what resources you had at the time, you will hopefully feel a sense of accomplishment. Those who feel a sense of regret over neglected relationships and life choices can feel despair over these losses.
