Dhagash, Patel and Chaudhry (12) defined bio adhesion as the phenomena that occurred when the molecular forces of attraction on surfaces got adhered to biological polymers, natural and synthetic polymers allowing for an extended adherence. The research proposed that the interaction of the polymers with the biological surface resulted in wetting and swelling of the Bio adhesion surfaces. Ultimately, penetration and formation of bonds were responsible for the adherence and prolonged interaction between the polymers and biological surfaces (12). The dosage forms are currently utilising polymers for the manufacture of agents that have high adherence capacity to biological surfaces in the mouth. Overall, tablets were shown to improve the stability of various bacterial species, including Lactobacillus in extreme conditions of temperature and humidity by eliminating other potential pathogens within the mouth cavity (Does the reference say something about a specific temperature or a specific environment/humidity?)
