In this initial entry into your Nurse E-Portfolio for this course, you continue to have opportunities for reflective practice. In this entry you will focus on legal issues and structure, the Nurse Practice Act for the state of Florida and your own ethics and ethical values. Using the e-portfolio format, answer the following questions. Make sure you spend some time thinking about the answers to these questions before writing.

1. What legal issues and structures must you personally and professionally be aware of to be a safe and competent nurse?
   
2. What are the most important aspects of the Nurse Practice Act that you want to continually keep in mind when practicing as a professional nurse?
   
3. As you prepare for the remainder of this course, it is helpful to start thinking about your own ethics and ethical values. List two that you “live by” and provide a description of how they are used in your daily life.
