A 1500 word essay (100 marks), chosen from one of the titles below:

1. ‘Is the science of psychiatric treatment robust enough to justify psychiatric power?’ (Bracken, 2012). Discuss this question in relation to the treatment of people who have been diagnosed with mental health disorders in Ireland.
2. Drawing on your attendance at the “Critical Voices Network Ireland’ Conference in November 2018 in UCC, discuss the relevance to and implications for your role as a mental health nurse of one of the sessions that you attended.
3. ‘Can you throw them the keys?’ Discuss possible opportunities and barriers for the established mental health professions working with and alongside mental health peer workers.
