History of Present Illness
LL 7 years old male with severe abdominal pain admitted to hospital PICU with diagnosis of Appendicitis. The pain started a day before and it was so severe that patient couldn’t even walk. Blood work up shows significant leukocytosis. Urine is concentrated, umber color.
WT: 22.5kg
Ht: 54 in
BSA: 0.91m2
BMI: 12.0kg/m2
CT abd/pelvic shows retrocecal appendix with diam. Approximately 1.3 containing complex fluid and 3 appendicoliths the largest apprx. 5mm. No air seen.
Patient has no nausea or vomiting, NPO
Alert and oriented x 4
No sensory abnormalities

O2 98 Room Air

Pain 6 on FACE scale
Abdomen is tender, guarding.
Bowel sounds Active RLQ. Bladder – Normal
No Cardiac disorders

Past Medical History
Previously healthy male with No past medical history, No surgery.
Psychosocial history
Patient leaves with mom, dad and 5 siblings. He’s the youngest in his family. No signs of physical, sexual abuse. Dad is rooming with the patient the whole time, playing video games, showing love and support.
