Prusa believes that an antihero is, “A flawed hero, and therefore, much more interesting than
the more traditional heroes. They can be working on the side of good, but with a tragic flaw,
or a horrible past, or for reasons that are selfish and not entirely ‘pure’. They can also be
working for the side of evil, but with hidden noble intentions, or other underlying
complexities. ” (Prusa, Towards the Antihero Theory, 2019). Here, Prusa is arguing that the
modern day antihero is very much like the characters described by Aristotle and Propp,
however, their unique morals are likely to have more to do with things that have happened in
their lives which therefore have shaped their individual perspective a certain way.
Prusa also put forward the idea that instead of the antihero being one specific type of
character, there are actually three different types of antiheroes: the light, the inward and the
