“If you lead your life the right way the karma will take care of itself. The dreams will come to you. ”, Professor Randy Pausch said in his last lecture and he gave us the real lessons in his last stage. I am attracted by what he said and what he understood about life. In real life, various people choose to live their own lives and understand life in their ways. They may never think about the value of life but just live. Me too. I followed the normal social rules of going to college, getting a job, making money… I always thought I should do the same to other people, but never thought about life. However, the video reminds me of my heart, and my family.

When I tried to remember my childhood, I just realized that I don’t learn about myself. Most of the memories are about learning and taking exams related to math, reading comprehension, painting, swimming, calligraphy, clarinet and so on. For me, these memories are not good, since I like none of them, but my parents thought I should learn and then enrolled me in many extracurricular courses. As a Chinese family, it seems that the more you learn at the very beginning, the brighter future you will gain. So childhood is fuzzy to me and all are about learning. Every time I would like to take a rest, my mother was always watching my eyes and told me seriously that one more hour. However, Randy said in the video they cared about you so that they are more serious. Indeed, they spent most of their time caring and giving themselves so that I could develop in many fields when I was young, which would make me more competitive in the future and know more new things. So that I remember what I learned and when people make a new discussion, I am able to catch up easily. It makes me enjoy school life. I complained about them before, but I understand now that they are thinking about my future.
I still remember that I came to the United States and studied alone five years ago, they were watching me through the security gate at the airport without any words. Actually, I was excited at that time, since no one was disciplining me all the time and teaching me what to do and say, and pointed out my mistakes. Although we usually greeted each other, they are simply good sentences, such as I am fine or I am good. During the epidemic, this year, when China was in the worst condition and the news reported that many people were infected. My parents and I made a facetime for the first time in these years. No specific reasons, but I suddenly missed them and wanted to see them chatting with me safely. I noticed that their black hair was mixed with little white hairs, It was so long ago. ‘The last lecture’ made me realize that life is really fragile under the unpredictable disaster and any accident could happen. I want to go back to them as soon as possible and make every moment with them valuable.
The way to pass through a lifetime is just once. No matter how I choose to pass through it in the future, I will enjoy every moment with my family and cherish life together.
