How could this research help charities understand the importance of accounting

1.3 Structure of the report (50 words)

Give a brief in 1 line for Literature review, Data and methods, Analysis and Discussion and conclusion. Explain what those sections will be about in 1 line each.

  1. Literature review (1100 Words)

A brief review of the relevant academic and professional literature related to the issue you are investigating. This provides a supporting foundation of why the issue you are investigating is worth to be investigate and need a solution/answer.

Find out only 10 researchers who have completed and published research on the effectiveness of accounting on the performance of charities such as BHF or Oxfam or any other charities. Doesn’t have to be UK based charity but may be helpful.

What was their aim of research and explain their finding of research?

What is your understanding of the results of their findings?

Why do you think this is an important topic to discuss?

 

3.0 Data and Methods  (800 words)

A clear explanation of the methods (including sampling, data sources) used to investigate and analysis the issue. There is no need to submit the raw data. However, you need to present the summary statistics of the data if applicable.

 

  • Explain further about secondary research of what variable are you going to discuss. Manipulate some data.
  • Look at financial performance of a company and describe how accounting has helped improve performance.
  • Type of information in the report (Primary or secondary data?) (Quantitative or qualitative info?)
  • How did I select the sample of data?
  • How variables relate to each other?
  • Evidence from large charities in the past
  • No need for more than three graphs. Graphs have to relate to the title of the project.

4.0 Analysis and Discussion (800 words)- Analysis and Discussion you need 800-1000 words

Present, analyse and discuss the results in a structural and organised ways. The presentation should be logical and easy to follow. The analysis and discussion should look deeper and implications of the results rather than superficial.

  • Every graph presented you need to interpret every table and graph of what you have done. Look at the trend.
  • Analyse things from my or your perspective (Accounting related). Link it to my investigation.
  • Again, no more than three graphs.
  • Look at the results from literature and graph. Analyse these results but in a logical manner.
  • The analysis and discussion should look deeper and Implications of the results rather than superficial.

5.0 Conclusion

Assessment of your findings to see whether it is useful to provide an answer(s) to the issue you are investigating and realising the limitations of your investigation.

Explain what difficulties/limitations you had to face while completing this research. Around 100 words would be ideal for this bit.

5.3 Future consideration

What can future researchers do in order to make the research valid?

Conclusion you need around 300-400 words

6.0 References

List all the references which appear in the text in alphabetical order by the authors’ surnames. You need to use Harvard referencing system.

  • 30 references- most of this should be articles
  • This section should follow the Harvard referencing system.

7.0 Appendices

Graphs should be placed in this section.
