Since SMEs are becoming increasingly important, the problems faced by the business and managers are rising as well. SMEs performs in a highly competitive environment and thus their environmental and social targets may be neglected. Therefore, this research contributes to both policy makers and SME owners or managers. For example, this research evaluates SCM measures and derives means of improvements helps managers not only in economic perspective but also from environmental and a social point of view. Furthermore, by identifying barriers faced by SMEs when engaging in SCM, it helps policy makers get an understanding of the drivers determining success and failure of SMEs and provide important insights for policy makers to propose policy that will help increase successful implementation of SCM in SMEs in their country.
