The Christians in Western Europe believed that their religion, Catholicism, was unique because it did not belong to Romans only but also other groups. They believed in the attornment of through the cross of Jesus and had a significant monastic prayer. In the Northern part, monasticism became bulbous, and sacred grounds were preserved for prayers. Popes and Rome were symbols of the unit and shared belief. Moving on, the growth of Christianity lead to split into two groups, Roman catholic church, and the Greek Orthodoxy. They both believed in one supreme God. Hover they had some indifferences; for example, Catholics referred to popes as infallible, whereas Orthodox believers did not know infallible popes. Catholics also believed that Mary was born free from original sins; this does not apply to Orthodox. Finally, the clergy in catholic does not marry, whereas, for the Orthodox, one can marry before ordination
