The Five Capitals Model (FCM) has been used significantly in the mining industry, but it also has some limitations while dealing with areas of governance. The idea of sustainability based on Triple Bottle Line (TBL) is also used for representing sustainability in the mining industry. The mixed method approach has a reliability justification towards investigating corporate environment sustainability indication. Neither qualitative nor quantitative are able to determine the accuracy of research itself, as company transparency might impact the findings. Using both quantitative and qualitative combined data coherence sets data to support research findings. Thus, it is important to have both primary and secondary research to understand company environmental responsibility goals. Researchers need to better understand the mechanisms that foster how and why firms behave environmentally. A case study from Glencore will discuss global regulation, regional regulation, company initiative as well as company and stakeholders values. This research will include interviews from this Indonesian company where information in sustainability was not as conclusive as the multinational.
