Written Report (1,500 words) (ePortfolio: Report) and Presentation (5 slides) (ePortfolio: Presentation) (U2:LO2,3,4) You must first propose a research question. This can be selected from the list below or one you think of yourself:

• Discuss the influence of propaganda poster on political commentary today

• The influence of Bauhaus thinking on modern design

• How have contemporary practitioners sought to revive the craft of design in Ireland

• Histroical or Contemporary female designers who have impacted the design/creative industries

You are required to create a report in response to one of the above using primary and secondary research. Discuss the social and cultural implications of the work and the context to which it applies. Consult current literature and conduct a literature review from a variety of sources. Conduct a critical analysis and compartive study with another conetmporary designer and include images in your report. You should also aim to include conclusions or findings at the end of the report. This must be your own analysis and should aim to analyse the way in which the works may have broader cultural or sociall influence. Images are to be included in your essay. Include a bibliography and list of images in your submission.

Primary research: what methods did you use? This might include a film or exhibition review, a focus group, interview or questionnaire. Explain why you used the chosen method and what your research uncovered Explain your analysis of a chosen design piece/project that has been part of your investigation (this might be a piece of design, a painting, film, photograph etc. What were the questions you asked and why were you asking them? What did you find out and did it help you to answer your research question? Please note that the essays need to be researched using books, journals and/or websites. The information presented should be referenced correctly using the Harvard referencing system. Failure to do this will greatly affect the final grade.
