The Pfizer case study by Wang and Zhou (2008) in China demonstrates the importance of having a local business strategy because there are large differences between home country and host country conditions and management needs to localized their strategies to fit the market. That was a challenge for them as Pfizer has to meet the objectives on global integration coming from the headquarter and yet must be responsive to local demand, it is both an art and science for the management to struck a balance between the two conflicting dual pressures.
