Ivarsson and Alvstam (2013) explore the reason why local companies go abroad and find the main driver on new business opportunities is the relationship they have with the network partners both in home country and abroad. Another valid reason is cost reduction, mainly to serve their international clients, either locally or through exports (Ivarsson and Alvstam 2013).
Research Methodology
The application of the research method will be a qualitative one using a “narrative analysis”. The focus will be to explore and determining the key strategies for Australian SMEs to expand into China. This qualitative research technique will enable the researcher to understand the complicated issues and under-researched fields (Rust et al 2017). It is also useful to explain the underlying issues regarding the specific problems. Tuval – Mashiach (2017) states that the technical flexibility of the qualitative research is critical, and every case of the methodology is unique. The data collection must be transparent to increase its validity and reliability.
