During the read-aloud sessions, the parent or literacy instructors have to make the right decisions when answering questions from children perspectives considering their experience with the text being read aloud. Contrarily, Duggins and Acosta (2019) argues that the reaction and expectation of the children are monitored to ensure they gain the right knowledge. The interaction between the children and parents or teachers should be appropriate for effective knowledge gain. The read-aloud programme should be designed correctly taking into account the children’s social, academic, and literacy background. This helps in identifying the right programmes and read-aloud techniques to use in each case. Sometimes the children may react differently during the read-aloud sessions which may affect the literacy learning process but that may be beyond the parent or teacher.
