Underestimating body size was associated with high self-esteem. This implies that the obsessed individual’s self-esteem lies in the false perception of their body size (Nautiyal, 2016). Furthermore, most women feel positive when they fit in a small size. However, their need for large fitting was not associated with self-esteem (Staudte, 2017). They found that males respond to their body size calmly; hence their body self-esteem is never affected. Therefore, the current study aims at the model’s self-esteem based on the features earlier stated. This was constructed using multi-linear regression analysis.
Data Analysis and Discussion
The study involved both descriptive and inferential analysis. Descriptive statistics were used to determine the characteristics of the data. The inferential analysis is essential in deciding about the population based on the sample. A multiple regression analysis was adopted since there was more than one predictor variable. The dependent variable was self-esteem, while the independent variables were body weight, age, and height. The results obtained are as follows:
